Gini Dietrich looks at Warren Buffett's recent purchase of 63 community newspapers, noting that "Buffett is not known for making high-risk or crazy investments. Quite the opposite..." Indeed, this will be something to watch. We still get our community newspaper home-delivered (it costs an astounding 75 cents on the newsstand). The news section has slimmed to space equivalency with the sports section. But there still are local stories and insights that are available nowhere else. As long as we're citizens of given patches of earth, this matters. Possibly Warren Buffett understands that very well. PR people should, too.
