Oprah who? Mark Zuckerberg is staying true to his New Year’s Resolution and is asking his 30 million Facebook friends to join. He is challenging all of us to read a book every other week. Zuckerberg is emphasizing books on different beliefs, cultures, and technologies. He created a Facebook group called “A Year of Books” and is urging all his friends to join. So far, the page has gotten 287,104 likes.
“I’m excited for my reading challenge. I've found reading books very intellectually fulfilling,” Zuckerberg posted via Facebook. The first book chosen was Moisés Naim’s The End of Power: From Boardrooms to Battlefields and Churches to States, Why Being in Charge Isn’t What It Used to Be. The book briefly sold out on Amazon and had a sales ranking of #138! The power some people can posses. The book even made Amazon’s Movers and Shakers list for books making the biggest gains on the Bestseller list. Way to go, Zuckerberg!
To make things even more interesting, Zuckerberg has launch Q&As with the authors on Facebook. What’s better than curling up with a good book that makes you think and then having the chance to ask the author whatever questions are on your mind? Sounds like a great idea to me! Check out the page the and join the movement!
