Maddie Ziegler is a 12-year-old star on Dance Moms. She has a huge social media following, and she is Target’s latest spokesperson for the back-to-school season.

Back-to-school is about getting school supplies and new clothes for the season. Maddie Ziegler is a stylish young girl who is home-schooled because of all her dancing and TV filming. Some have criticized Target for using her when she doesn’t attend a real school. She may not get a school supply list, but she still has classes and studying to do. She is followed on social media for her style and recently appeared in Ralph Lauren’s style show. Maddie also danced the fall fashion trends for Glamour magazine, according to her Twitter page. That is the kind of attention that will help Target achieve their clothing sales goals.

A spokesperson is someone who is aligned with your mission and goals and helps to elevate your message. One of her recent tweets said, “A smile is the prettiest thing you can wear.” That is the kind of message kids today need to hear.

Some of the coverage surrounding the commercial gave Maddie’s view of the clothes. She commented that she loved the jeans. That personal endorsement should help Target sell more of them. Target made a good selection with Maddie. The commercial is upbeat and exciting about heading back to school.
