Where's Social Media Headed in 2010?

One of the more interesting prediction postings we've seen for 2010 is TrendsSpotting's survey on how social media may evolve in the new year. Survey responses are presented in 140 characters or less by 36 of the leading Web communication and marketing gurus. Rather than sample the responses for you here, if you're interested in what social media might be like in another year -- and as a PR practitioner, you should be -- spend some time here.

Social media is far more subtle to learn than the "broadcast" techniques of traditional advertising. They take study and immersion (not that advertising didn't/doesn't but social media just seems deeper to use effectively). Maybe that's because it involves listening and pondering ahead of proclaiming. Anyhow, you couldn't have a more connected group of commentators than those assembled by TrendsSpotting to help sort through it.
