What Will White House Grounding Yield for Goldman's PR?
A crisis communication challenge is greeting Goldman Sach's new public relations director, Richard L. "Jake" Siewert Jr., who was President Bill Clinton's press secretary and more recently served as a communications counselor to the U.S. Treasury Department. Siewert will have to seek the high ground on Goldman's behalf, partly in response to a bitter New York Times op-ed piece by the firm's executive director, Greg Smith, who resigned yesterday.

Goldman Sachs, of course, has been in the headlines since the 2008 financial crisis. Siewert is being handed Goldman's crisis-management charter by Lucas van Praag, who served in top PR posts there for 12 years. It will be interesting to see how much staying power a White House background brings to a financial giant under continuing stress.
