Here's another milestone for social media: Now Twitter can be added to your LinkedIn page. Why does that matter? Well, according to Reid Hoffman and Biz Stone, the deal makers, providing ready access to tweets from LinkedIn allows the "widest possible distribution" of the request or insight in the tweet. You can tweet to your LinkedIn colleagues as well as all your Twitter followers. One, from whatever locale on the electronic scene, might have an answer for you.
What's interesting in PR terms is that you can widen the audience for inspired comments, or you can tweet on the spur of the moment to those sober folks on your LinkedIn account, provided they've chosen to activate the Twitter link themselves. It's not particularly easy or self-evident to accomplish, but in Twitter's settings, you can also add Twitter widgets to Facebook and MySpace, as well as your Web page.
