We have reached the appointed time where we go on a small editorial break to spend quality time with family, friends, and others we choose to associate with.
Of course, we would be totally remiss if we didn't first show our appreciation for the industry.
It is clear that this year has been an interesting one for the industry. Spending has increased; brands are getting more comfortable opening their wallets as consumers are doing the same.
As the holiday shopping continues to ramp up, we are expecting very good news from retailers. We have seen the potential for the biggest merger in history crumble as fast as it was announced, and we continue to see the infatuation with digital-specific agencies rather than a focus on research.
Still, every day with the advertising industry is different. From new ways of thinking about advertising to highlighting the good and not-too-good ad campaigns out there, we have thoroughly appreciated being in an industry that can be so polarizing.
Advertising gives you so much to think about. From creativity to minority hiring to spec work, agency/brand compensation, predictive modeling, and much more.
AdLand is a pretty sweet place to be.
Folks, enjoy your holiday.
