Surrender…and Succeed.
 
Let go and renew.

Just for the afternoon.

Or maybe for the evening, too.

But please, before we go any further, don’t confuse my suggestion to surrender as “giving up.”

Because “giving up” (or “quitting,” as you might think of it) is not what I have in mind at all.

I mean surrender. Total, relaxed surrender as a regular practice in your life and work.

Letting go of the struggle, the desire, the burden of work — completely.

This is chance for the big exhale.

Now here’s exactly why you should think about doing this: You’ll save your life and improve your craft. You’ll feel healthier, less tense, and more in the great flow. Where you shine brightest.

Now, if you’re unsure of this approach, let’s look at it this way:

If you were a good, old-fashioned, natural farmer, you’d know you can’t keep planting the same crops over and over on the same soil without the earth getting tired and burned out, and getting less and less good results. You have to let the earth rest, recover, be fallow, and allow the rain, sun, and decaying vegetable and animal matter recharge and feed the soil again.

So become a farmer of your own mind and body.

Learn to be fallow.

Here’s some of the surrender, re-charging releases I do and have made a huge happy difference to my life and business:
  1. Turn off the smartphone
  2. Put the computer to sleep
  3. Take a shower and wash the cares away
  4. Drink some good, pure water, slowly
  5. Close your eyes and forgive all the stress-causing people in your world
  6. Breathe from your belly slowly, deeply (inhale, hold, and exhale to a count of 5, 5, and 5, then 6, 6, and 6, then 7, 7, and 7)
  7. Get outside for a long walk, a happy bicycle ride, or sit in some natural beautiful place; at least get outside somewhere and then…
  8. Look up, raise your head high as you can see — ahhh…feeling better?
  9. Take a 90-minute nap

Or come up with your own, via any meditational, relaxed practice you enjoy and helps you let go.

Self care of any type is essential too, such as massage in a darkened, sweet-smelling room

But for best results, full release and surrender is the secret. The more comfortable you can make yourself during the process, the more creative you can become.

So seriously, let go. All the way.
The more you let go, the better.
Physically, emotionally, mentally.
Even for a few minutes if you can.
Every day.

I assure you; the benefits are many, but those willing to do it are few.
