Gaining popularity on Kickstarter, this developer is currently raising 224% over the proposed need of $75K. They only have 36 days left in the campaign and still have the potential to reach a “stretch goal” of $250K. Meeting this goal will mean that it will be available on Android as well as on the iPhone. The iPhone was the first choice for the developer.

 

​Eyecatcher reminds us that “smart and sexy is a powerful combination.” Without the need to recharge often, one will wonder if it needs any power at all. As a matter of fact, the rechargeable battery is said to last up to one year on a single charge. This means there will never be another excuse of a “dead battery.” Ladies, we know what your boyfriends will be getting this Christmas. Yes, this bracelet could be dangerous!

For the ladies, the developer has created two bangle watches. There is an option of a thin, white bronze or a thicker sterling silver design. For the men, the flexible, stainless steel, form-fitting bracelet is the only option. The good news is that all watch-bracelets are purely customizable. In fact, Looksee Labs promotes it as “A smart bracelet that fuses art, fashion and technology by displaying custom images, slideshows, app-notifications and breaking news.” Somehow this doesn’t seem to quite sum it up. This watch is a game changer and a powerhouse for fashion. On top of that, they’re waterproof. You can’t go wrong when technology is waterproof.

As customizable as this product is, you will be snapping pictures of your clothing in no time. Your outfits will coordinate perfectly with your watch face. Bluetooth Low Energy file and app sharing allows for your watch face to be customized to implement accessibility, productivity, and easy access to your every day life.

Each device can be programmed to receive all text messages or specific text messages. Get up-to-the-minute breaking news and sports scores without digging out your phone and searching for it. Done subtly, you won’t become distracting or offensive to clientele at your next meeting. By the way, Eyecatcher is the only reason you remembered you had scheduled that.

A large 5”, always-on display will not dim. You won’t have to click or swipe anything. There is built-in memory for slideshows. There are expansion slots. And this device will sync with your mobile device. This ensures that text messages, stock notifications, and even calls will be displayed on your wrist for quick glances and catching your attention. A true friendship bracelet, social sharing is made possible through push notifications to other Eyecatcher owners that you are connected to.

Ranging from $400 to $700 a device, not everyone will be so quick to purchase this device. It comes out on markets next April, so enthusiasts have time to save up, although getting it now through pre-order will save them a killing in the long run.

For users with an active lifestyle, it will be interesting to see how many times these watches will need to be repaired, as one crashes, bangs their wrist, and goes through a series of other indirect self-abuses on a daily basis. Just how much impact will it take to cause damage? Because this product uses bronze and stainless steel, it can be assumed that it's pretty resistant to impact and even heat. Because the bracelets are somewhat flexible, it is also less likely that the screen will crack easily.
