Retooling on the Go

These are perilous times in the media and PR businesses. Changes in customer preferences for media and relational techniques may bring abrupt changes in your job status. It's highly pertinent that you maintain the ability to regroup and retool. To that end, we're not talking about given PR situations today, but referring you to an amazing list of educational materials.

The Bloggie Talkie blog offers a list of "50 Enlightening Open Courseware Classes on Communication." You can go back to communication school via your computer for free. It takes a little patience and discrimination to delve through these free educational offerings, but materials are available in Journalism, Information Technology, Visual Communications, Languages (ever wanted to tackle first-year Chinese?) and the "Other Communications Courses," which includes still more lists of possible coursework.

It takes motivation and persistence to make use of online materials like these, but roaming through them and attending to those that interest you can help equip you for new challenges.

Happy Fourth of July!
