PR Principles for Parenting

Here's a neat discussion of how techniques from public relations apply to effective parenting at home. On Ms. Career Girl, Veronica Hunt, who's been in PR for more than 20 years, tells how professional insights are helping her raise her tween daughter. Basically, she needs to keep establishing credibility.

PR principles that apply to parenting, Veronica says, include:
• Communicate effectively and often
• Stay engaged and connected
• Set aside some face time and listen
• Lead by example
• Apologize when you are wrong

Veronica includes further discussion of each of these. A nice effort, one that no doubt will be appreciated by parent practitioners in both home and corporate offices.
