Dow Jones 'Automates' Media Relations

Dow Jones is offering a new Web assistance for media relations management : Dow Jones Media Relations Manager.

The company's Web site promo on the new service doesn't include any pricing information. The "next step" is to have Dow Jones contact you on the service, which seems a little cumbersome for a service that's intended to speed relationships along.

Media Relations Manager is a self-described "media database and journalist/blogger contact-management tool that helps communications professionals pinpoint and engage the right influencers for the best results. Dow Jones links its global collection of traditional and social media with journalist and blogger contact, profile, beat and pitch data. Media relations professionals can save time and effort by easily understanding what journalists and bloggers are writing about today and quickly evaluating the outcome of their media relations activities."

This looks as though it's worth considering as a media relations efficiency tool, if the price turns out to be right for you.
