Broadway scored a relational coup tonight (Thurs., Dec. 10) with the historic first live-streaming of a Broadway show, Daddy Long Legs, over the Internetnet. In one digital stroke, the show's audience was greatly magnified worldwide, probably. People the world over, very likely, were introduced to the magic of a Broadway show, with the audience applauding ras the people at their desktops, or with their portables, watched, entranced.
Artistry gained greatly from the transmission, as Broadway's potential audience suddenly grew immensely. It wasn't quite like being in the theater itself, but it was wonderful. And people on Twitter, too, went wild over the experience. Congratulations, theater folks!
