Counseling Clients on Putting Foreign-Born Employees at Ease

Aside from being acquainted with the Harvard Business Review, a blog that should be on every PR person's monitoring list, here's a post that you can use with clients who may have foreign-born employees to their staffs. Foreign-born workers may be reticent in contributing to meetings. For instance, young staffers from cultures like China may feel that "it is simply inappropriate to speak one’s mind in a public forum, especially with senior colleagues in the room." Or they may have a felt lack of dexterity in English. Whatever, the Review post gives suggestions for prompting foreign-born employees to be all they can be, which in many cases is a lot indeed. This is certainly worth adding to your tool kit for clients.
