Brian Solis and Jesse Thomas, the creators of the Conversation Prism, have introduced the Social Compass. Like the Prism with its assemblage of social media tools, the Compass brings together virtually all the elements in a communication value system aimed at building brands. The really important term is "system" and the need to consider all the factors in today's increasingly complex, and energizing social-marketing climate.
Solis, the author of Putting the Public Back in Public Relations, says the new graphic will be discussed in his next book.
"A compass," he states, "is a device for discovering orientation and serves as a true indicator of physical direction. The Social Marketing Compass points a brand in a physical and experiential direction to genuinely and effectively connect with customers, peers, and influencers, where they interact and seek guidance online."
Congratulations to Brian and Jesse for being so engaged and "with it."
