Another Reason Not to Have an Oil Spill
We post this for no reason other than fascination with how Web-centric folks with programming ability can develop sites to plague PR departments at the time of a disaster like the BP spill. This site -- ifitwasmyhome.com -- allows a viewer to place an outline of the spill over any location in the U.S. -- indeed, the world (we tried London, BP's home).

The oil spill map data is provided by the National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and overlaid on Google maps. The oil has a horrendous spread.

The ifitwasmyhome.com site was developed by Andy Lintner and includes a live video feed of the leak by BP and a running tally counter of the number of gallons leaked based on a rate of 1,050,000 a day.

Linter is to be commended for Internet ingenuity, unless you work for BP. What a sad scene down there!
