Department Overview

The Marketing Division is responsible for the sales and retention of new and existing group accounts, maintenance and service of such accounts and upgrading of business to these accounts. It is also responsible for individual, senior products and long term care sales and retention.  Sales and product support involve the entire scope of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama coverage, including health, dental, long term care, life and account-based products.  The Marketing Division is also responsible for product development and management, product profitability, advertising, direct marketing, marketing communications and marketing research and development.
 

Primary Responsibilities

The Web Data Analyst is part of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama Marketing division and is responsible for analyzing, tracking, and reporting website behavior to enhance our customers’ online experience and measure success for digital initiatives.  The Web Data Analyst will provide insight on how to optimize website design, content, campaigns, sales funnels and overall customer experience.  This position will work with internal departments and external partners to strategize, define, develop, and deliver website reporting and analysis that provides decision-makers with the information they need to maximize digital strategy efforts.

Additional Responsibilities Include:

  1. Analyze various digital marketing efforts and cross-divisional web analytics support.
  2. Develop, prepare, analyze and deliver regular reports for mid to senior level management.
  3. Perform website behavior and customer experience analysis to provide insights and/or recommendations.
  4. Evolve the strategic direction of web analytics through the company by building relationships, documenting processes and recommending research methodology enhancements.
  5. Coordinate the analytical lifecycle for initiatives by gathering business and technical requirements, implementing campaign tracking parameters, installing tracking code through tag management systems and validating web data.
  6. Form relevant metrics and KPIs utilizing multiple sources of data including web behavior, digital marketing channels, social, offline data and voice of customer.
     
Summary of Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
  • Three to Five years of web analytics or online marketing experience in support of enterprise level projects
  • Experience utilizing and implementing enterprise level web analytics solutions such as CoreMetrics, Google Analytics, IBM NetInsight, Adobe SiteCatalyst or WebTrends
  • Ability to digest deep analytical concepts to communicate and deliver presentations to upper level management
  • Mid-level expertise in SEM/PPC, SEO and online campaign strategies and measuring success of those types of initiatives
  • Proficient understanding of HTML, JavaScript, DOM, SQL and tagging methodologies
  • Expert knowledge of Excel, Power Point or other analytical and presentation tools
  • Knowledge or experience utilizing a tag management system such as Google Tag Manager, Adobe DTM, Ensighten and Tealium is a plus
  • Knowledge of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama or related healthcare industry experience is beneficial
  • Understanding of social media analytics/monitoring tools and tactics is highly desired
  • Web Analytics certifications or documented participation with the DAA or other web analytics workgroup is a plus
  • Experience and/or training with web usability, voice of customer solutions, A/B and multivariate testing is desired
