Title: Marketing Account Manager
Location: Greensboro, NC

Employer Description

We are seeking an Account Manager who often serves as the primary business contact for the client and leads the charge in driving client satisfaction. The Account Manager works with the Strategic Account Director to cultivate a thorough understanding of the client's business and customer base. He or she, with direction from the Strategic Account Director, helps the client define the brand and ensures that creative executions adhere to it. The AM assists the Strategic Account Director in developing the marketing strategy and marketing plan, and works with the creative team to put the plan into action. He or she assists in presenting work to the client, and helps the client understand and value the work. The AM delivers excellent customer service to clients, and represents their needs and goals within the organization to ensure quality. He or she builds long-term partnerships with clients to capacitate their success and encourage new and repeat business opportunities.



  • Responsible for client communications, conflict resolution, and compliance on client deliverables and revenue
  • Responsible for developing the projects and timeline to implement the plans, created by the SAD, for each client on a rolling six-month basis
  • Responsible for providing all information and insights needed for the project team, including project managers, creatives and developers, to successfully execute the project
  • Reviews the creative brief with clients to ensure it meets agreed upon project objectives
  • Reviews creative work to ensure it meets criteria set out in the creative brief
  • Ensures that client issues are dealt with swiftly, informing Strategic Account Directors and management of any problems that may arise
  • Communicates the client's goals and represents the client's interests to the team
  • Assists the Strategic Account Director and creative team in presenting work to the client; helps the client understand and value the work presented.
  • Works to achieve the goal of helping clients prosper by seeking out additional opportunities the client may have overlooked or did not ask about, that would benefit their business
  • Helps keep client material and files organized and up to date. Monitors for client and client industry news updates
  • Approves change orders and invoices
  • Monitors monthly plans and budgets to ensure they are on course. Notifies clients if additional time is needed to complete a project for a given month
  • Notifies client when requests exceed the original scope of the project; if client wishes to proceed, the Account Manager ensures the projects are revised accordingly
  • Works closely with the project team in order to maintain a continuous knowledge of project status in order to identify potential issues and/or opportunities within or related to the project
  • Ensures that all processes and procedures are completed, quality standards are met, and that projects are both successful for the client and profitable for RLM
  • Is aware of and informs the Strategic Account Director of opportunities for account growth and new business
  • Provides regular two-way communication between the client and team, to provide strong team representation and set proper client expectations
  • Understands the capabilities of Red Letter Marketing, and effectively communicates all appropriate offerings to the client
  • Reports to the Strategic Account Director, providing regular input on all account activity, including status and call reports on a weekly basis
  • Participate in our Nerf Wars and other fun activities. We work hard but we have fun and believe in a balanced life



  • Proven account leadership skills required in order to create, maintain and enhance customer relationships
  • Minimum 2 years of marketing management experience
  • A background in and understanding of marketing and business
  • Some strategic marketing knowledge and skills
  • Experienced client leadership skills
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Technical competence (understanding of software, hardware, networks, etc.)
  • Motivated, goal oriented, persistent and skilled at negotiation
  • High level of initiative
  • Enjoys working in a team environment and promotes team participation by all
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Plans and carries out responsibilities with minimal direction
  • Handles stressful situations and deadline pressures well
  • Nimble and able to adapt to rapidly changing situations
  • Creative thinker who consistently comes up with “What if?” ideas and solutions
