JOB SUMMARY:
The many responsibilities of the copywriter require versatility and the ability to handle everything from product
descriptions, print pieces, social media, online (website, email blasts and online banners) and more.
That means knowing how to dial up our brand voice when writing for more attention-getting pieces or dial it
down for more straightforward product descriptions. Being versatile also requires the ability to move quickly
and comfortably between multiple projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for creating accurate, clear and brand relevant copy that achieves marketing and advertising
objectives across all media including website, social media, newspaper inserts, ROP, direct mail and
Point-of-Purchase material.
• Build upon our brand voice with inspiration writing that help develop relationships with our target market.
• Ensure consistent theme and tone in all brand and product messages.
• Collaborate with design team to brainstorm on creative ideas and concepts.
• Convert vendor information (pricing and product descriptions) to accurate, informational product copy.
• Develop and maintain copy database.
• Review proofs for accuracy and consistency as well as adherence to style and guidelines.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• 4-year degree required, preferably with a English/Journalism focus.
• Must have strong writing/English skills.
• Required proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel and other copyediting or authoring tools.
• Must possess excellent project management, time-management and communication skills
in a deadline-driven environment.
