Overall Job Description:
The Digital Marketing Specialist will work in conjunction with the Director Global Marketing Services and other members of the Marketing and Digital Media teams to integrate appropriate digital elements into communications campaigns. Essential Responsibilities in this role will include:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Daily activities related to researching, planning, architecting and implementing a variety of online marketing campaigns, including: paid search marketing, organic SEO, social media campaigns, email marketing and online display advertising
2. Assist in the development of the overall marketing plan and how email, SEO and SEM fits within annual communications strategies Qualifications/Requirements
3. Be in a constant state of research and learning in order to remain on top of current trends, best practices, new entrants and emerging ideas in the digital marketing space
4. Work both directly with key Chemidex team members (in particular global Core Sales and global Market Development team members) and external consultants to clearly understand client goals and business in order to formulate effective plans:
A. Search Engine Optimization
i. Understand how various site elements, including site architecture, titles, tags, link popularity, sitemap, etc., affect natural search results, page rank and site traffic and be able to communicate this clearly to stakeholders.
ii. Manage all aspects of SEO campaigns including Keyword research, link building, social media, analytics, content and copy suggestions.
iii. Work with in-house Web design and development team to improve website infrastructure as it relates to SEO
iv. Provide regular analysis and results for constant improvement for key metrics
B. Paid Search:
i. Perform all aspects of paid search campaign management on Google, Yahoo, Microsoft and other second tier platforms including client and competitive research, keyword research, campaign structuring, bidding strategies, conversion tracking and campaign reporting as required.
ii. Ad testing and landing page optimization including both A/B and multivariate testing using Google Website Optimizer or similar tools.
C. Email Marketing:
i. Work with in-house design and development teams and outside consultants to develop, optimize and launch global email marketing campaigns.
ii. Configure, schedule and deploy email campaigns using StrongMail | MessageStudio application.
iii. Stay current on email marketing best practices and have a firm understanding of the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003. Ensure that all email marketing communications are CAN-SPAM compliant
iv. Produce reports and measurement feedback to help shape the future marketing decisions and strategies
v. Constantly remain on top of current trends related to email marketing, design and content strategies, measurement and deliverability.
D. Online Display Advertising
i. Develop and implement tactics for online display advertising to include publisher research and negotiation.
E. Web Analytics
i. Configure and optimize Google Analytics software
ii. Study analytics information to help formulate strategies and actions in each of the above disciplines.
Requirements/Qualifications:
1. Minimum 3 years of email marketing, SEM and SEO experience, including hands-on experience
2. Bachelor’s degree or at least four years of professional work
3. Team-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment
4. Ability to work effectively with peers across cultures and geography
5. Excellent and oral written communication skills
6. Implementing and optimizing digital campaigns, working closely with design, agencies, vendors, marketing and/or product teams
7. Excellent project management, time management, and problem solving skills
8. Experience in the design and execution of A/B and multivariate testing programs
9. Ability to keep track of best practices and the adoption of industry trends a must
10. Excellent understanding of email, SEO and SEM campaign performance metrics, with ability to conduct deep dive analysis
11. Solid understanding of email delivery and deliverability issues
12. Strong attention to detail
13. Experience developing site maps and wireframes
14. Ability to manage and update web site content and graphics
