The Social Media Specialist will work to launch the online social media presence for the Holiday Inn Club Vacations brand. They will champion the brand online and carry the message crafted by the Corporate Communications department, serving business objectives for marketing, human resources, owner communication and public relations. Responsibilities will also include reporting on employee and resort happenings and heading up our employee video distribution program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND TASKS:
Launch and manage social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other relevant Web 2.0 sites.
Work across departments to ensure proper messaging is being executed online and is relevant to organizational goals.
Field customer service or related inquiries to the appropriate departments, ensuring customer follow-up.
Support and protect brand by ensuring positive messaging is maintained in community.
Establish consistency of message across multiple networks.
Manage online discussions by listening to users, reading between the lines, and responding in a timely manner to users’ needs and requests.
Monitor and track discussion topics for management team.
Provide relevant updates / take new information from weekly communication meeting and implement into social networking sites and employee communication vehicles.
Head up monthly employee video distribution program, collecting important updates from resort communications contacts, hosting editorial meeting, and coordinating editing with Brand Services team.
Prepare reports to update internal staff on usage statistics.

Must have active accounts across key social media sites including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.
Must have exceptional traditional writing and grammatical skills and a flair for using "social networking speak" and online jargon.
Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to present ideas and information clearly.
Extreme attention to detail and outstanding organization skills.
Collaborative team player able to integrate with a diverse team full of opinions and ideas.
Online search expert able to track and monitor postings relevant to the brand.

Experience in corporate environment preferred.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree preferred in liberal arts, journalism, new media, communications, marketing or public relations
Minimum of 2 years professional copywriting experience including advertising, collateral, direct mail, websites and e-communications.
Prefer minimum 2 years creating and managing company profiles on social media sites.
Understands how design, layout, and photography work with copy in producing effective communications
Demonstrated experience successfully managing multiple projects
Experience working well in cross-functional team environment
Timeshare or Hospitality industry experience preferred
