Position: Retail Promotion Designer (RPD)
Title: Designer
Division: Creative / Design
Reports To: Traffic Manager
Summary of Position: The RPD will hold a postion within the Design Department in support of major retail grocery client.
Essential Functions: The RPD will provide assistance in the following key areas:
• Print design of in-store promotional elements including:
- Ad Circulars
- POS
- Coupon Flyers
- Direct Mail
• Design of overall themes and concepts
• Performing artwork revisions and re-design of existing pieces
• Creating additional elements based an a pre-designed look and theme
• Meeting with the Account Team for creative briefs at the start of a design project
• Maintain quality control
• Proofread and ensure all risk management areas are fulfilled
• Meet or exceed deadlines
• Providing additional support in client communication
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The position of RPD requires an aptitude for the following skill
sets: Design and typography, organization, communication, current trends in technology and design,
and possess a keen attention to detail.
Qualifications: The RPD should be well-organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent time
management, communication and follow-through skills. The candidate should demonstrate an ability
to multi-task, work well in a collaborative environment, and be able to work under brand standards
and systems. The candidate should be a quick learner and have strong software skills in the
following programs: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark, Acrobat, Fetch, and Microsoft Office.
HTML and Flash knowledge not required, but a plus.
Specifics:
- College degree with a concentration in Graphic Design, or related field
- 3+ years of Retail / Manufacturer job experience
- Salary commensurate with experience
- Hours are roughly 8:30am – 5:30 pm
- Big egos need not apply
