Digital Art Director
McCann Erickson, located in downtown Birmingham, Michigan has an immediate opening for a digital art director. For this position, we’re looking for someone who can design both for the web as well as in the traditional advertising space. Workload will be more digitally focused, but versatility is a must. You will be concepting, creating and producing a variety of multimedia projects (sites, emails, banners, video, rich media, etc). This is an ad agency, so expect long hours, awkward requests, demanding clients, lots of meetings, loud screaming, an odd mix of wonderful people and a pretty relaxed atmosphere. Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in web design, art direction or related field of study.
• Minimum of 2 years digital art direction experience in advertising or marketing. Previous agency experience is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to brainstorm and develop creative concepts, apply them to various digital media, and communicate intended design direction
• Expertise in XHTML/CSS, ActionScript 3.0, rich media and video production, digital imaging and user interface design
• Proficient in Adobe CS4 (Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) on a Macintosh operating system
• Experience with cross-browser and cross-platform issues (IE, Firefox, Safari, Mac vs. Windows, etc.)
• Ability to work and communicate clearly with team members as well as efficient presentation skills
• Preparing video for the web
Position Responsibilities:
Demonstrates behavior expected of a professional member of the organization including but not limited to:
• Strong design focus, sense and skills, and demonstrates the ability to learn quickly and handle multiple projects in a dynamic business environment
• Creates site maps, wireframes, animation storyboards, static designs, XHTML/CSS templates, flash animations
• Understanding and assisting in the development of the information architecture and navigational concept of an entire project
• Handling small to large interactive builds both independently and as part of a team
• Understanding of optimization and production of art assets for the Web including capabilities of browsers and design constraints across multiple platforms
• Adhering to agreed upon delivery estimates and schedules coordinated through the project team
• Perform maintenance and updates to existing websites
