|Tuesday Morning's the Time, Maybe

If you've got a choice, Tuesday mornings are the best time to send out a press release, BusinessWired advises after PR Peeps polled 215 professional communicators on that weighty question.
However, the announcement adds a disclaimer: "the time of any press release is subject to the nature of the news, goals of that release, the news of the day, and other variables." Even so, if it's your choice, the feeling is that early in the week is the best time to get PR news out. And, of course, morning is best, to allow reporters to ask questions during the day.
Don't mistake it, though, there's nothing magical about Tuesday if you have breaking news or time-sensitive developments. Put them out as soon as available; obligations come first.
We've always felt that as soon as newsworthy information is available and confirmed, it should be issued, so long as, say, it's not Friday afternoon.
