The For Immediate Release podcast often has some great content, but the best I've heard since I started listening was the recording of a keynote address by Manish Mehta of Dell computers. Mehta is the vice president of social media and community for Dell and the speech was recorded at the 2010 New Communications Forum this past April in San Mateo, Calif.
Mehta has the experience and professional background that gives him the credibility needed to address executives in any company. In his one-hour speech, he drills down to the simplest ideas to deliver that message.
His discussion comparing what happened with the nuclear power industry and how that relates to what's happening in social media today was enlightening. His open and honest discussion about what has happened at Dell over the years regarding customer service and product development was refreshing, and having the podcast and PowerPoint presentation being made available by podcasters Shel Holtz and Neville Hobson is a gold mine for anyone trying to convince his or her company's management team to pull their head out of the sand. The intro by Neville doesn't have the best sound quality, but the keynote comes through loud and clear in many ways.
I'd recommend For Immediate Release being well worth an hour of multitasking time most days anyway, but this one is without a doubt.
