#PR: “The Donald” Throws Hat in Ring

“The Donald” has finally done it. After years of playing coyly with whether he would or would not run for the highest office in the United States of America, he made it official. He now truly is a candidate for President in the 2016 election.

The question now becomes one of whether he is running as a Republican candidate or as one who is more independent. And another question pops up: How will the Republican establishment as well as the Republican power brokers react to the news of his official announce?

There will be those who will say that Trump, with all his fortune, is seeking to “buy” the Presidency. However, having listened to his somewhat rambling announcement speech covered by Fox News, it seems to this flack that “The Donald” has little use or sympathy for people who do not know what they are doing or those who need to curry favor with lobbyists and major donors before making major decisions.

But there is one thing this flack will agree with Mr Trump on: The brand of the “United States of America” needs to be reborn, rebuilt, strengthened, and made profitably and productive for its customers… that is, us.

Trump built a reputation on being honest, plain-spoken, and a man of his word. He is also among few people who have immediate recognition in the business, political and entertainment sectors. How many other candidates for the office of the President have such immediate name recognition? Very few.

Trump may or may not secure the nomination, since there is a year between the primary cycle and the conventions and the general election. Almost anything can happen.

A crowded field of Republican candidates just became more crowded, and more volatile… and more interesting.

It’s going to be a wild ride for sure!
