Whether you’re in PR, marketing, banking, or selling software, strong brands are essential — both the brand you represent and your own personal brand. But what do all strong brands have in common? Here are their five top traits.

“Strong brands win,” says life coach Darryl L. Mobley,” who presented this week to the Austin chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA).

“They’re authentic and they stand for something. And that’s exactly how you need to do your own personal brand as well.”

Darryl presented the five top things strong brands have in common:

  • They have vision;

  • They have passion;

  • They make great decisions;

  • They’re adept at building teams and networking; and

  • They have a bias toward taking action and causing things to happen.

If you’re successful in developing your own strong brand, or that of the company you represent, he says, “good things will happen.”

They include:

  • You will attract those people who will be right for you or your business;

  • You will attract business offers and promotions that are consistent with your goals;

  • You will attract more money and more profits for your brand;

  • You will lessen your marketing costs; and

  • You will be happier and have less stress.

The bottom line, he told the AMA, is that if you have a strong brand, “people will seek YOU out.”
