|Bullets that Go Up Must Come Down, Fast Enough to Hurt

Here's some instructive information as 2014 draws to a close – "When fired into the air, bullets can return to the ground at speeds greater than 200 ft./sec., a sufficient force to penetrate the human skull and cause serious injury or death..."
In other words, The Indianapolis Star advises, don’t be shooting guns into the air to celebrate New Year’s, as a lot of people apparently do. That’s good relational advice, in a year that’s included rather too much gun-related news.
And here’s a harmless, well-intentioned final word to all of you highly regarded readers: “Happy New Year!”
