Lo and behold, Newhouse's New Orleans Times-Picayune, which fired more than 200 employees in June, 2012, is beefing up its newsroom again, most notably by hiring a crop of New York expatriate newspeople, reports CapitalNewYork.com. But along with its three-day-a-week print run, the Times-Picayune has a companion website and a new tabloid paper, TP Street, which publishes on the days the parent paper doesn't, but without home deliveries. So don't write off printing presses quite yet as part of journalism's future.
