Digg This Reader

Less than two weeks from now, Google Reader will officially shut its doors. And while, like many folks who rely on a reader, I’m searching for a replacement, I came across an amazing article from Wired about how Digg is doing their best to build the replacement of my dreams. (WARNING: SOME OF THE LANGUAGE MAY NOT BE SUITABLE FOR WORK.)
If you’re in PR but don’t work with Tech companies (or want to work with tech companies but aren’t doing so yet), it’s a great read to understand what makes them tick. If you’re looking for a Reader replacement, it provides deep insight as to what we’re really looking for. And, just as important, the article shows how some of the features we want may be more difficult than we understand.
The best part, for me, is that the article shows off a company I’m happily nostalgic for, in a way that both makes me want to root for them and wants them to be relevant again.
