NASA's Incredible Satellites...and Apple's Rumored iWatch

It was quite an evening on television and the Internet last night, an ultimate relational experience from Nova and then, a new Apple rumor. All with the effect of heightening the awe with which we ought to be framing our days as we offer our services to others. Nova's two-hour "Earth from Space" featured incredible enlightenment from NASA's satellites. And then, the Apple rumor offered the prospect of reducing such matters to our wrists, or something...

Our world is becoming both more imperiled and more accessible to us. We've got to respond more creatively then we've been doing to an epochal opportunity to reduce, yes, global warming and insure Earth's environment(s) for the future. This is a relational challenge that dwarfs most of the others.

If the Nova show was a promotion of NASA's satellites, half of which are nearing the end of their "eyes in the sky" lifetimes, so be it. We needed to see what they, a service of "big government," have been discovering and recording on our behalf. Afterwards, on checking my email, there was the Apple rumor. We're being provided with the tools we need to understand and function increasingly well from outer space to, presumably, our wrists. May we use them to preserve our world, the ultimate relational challenge.
