Amazon Earns Top Reputation

A study by Harris Interactive shows that Amazon has earned the top spot in the U.S. when it comes to company reputation.

Based on a sample of over 14,000 people, and ranking 20 attributes across six dimensions, the Web Retailing giant took the top spot away from Apple, which is now the second-most reputable company in the U.S.

The full survey results can be found here.

Only six of the most visible companies in the U.S. ranked as having “excellent” reputations, and sadly, one of them has been ruled to have been the caused of a death in New Zealand (it’s got to be tough to be in the beverage industry…New York City outlawed Big Gulps, 5 Hour Energy has been linked to multiple deaths, and now this).

And while there are a ton of interesting results that can be pulled out of the report, perhaps one that stands out most is that the travel and tourism industry has a largely positive reputation. However, airlines have a largely negative reputation.

Apparently, it’s great to see new places, unless, you know, you have to actually fly to get to them.
