We wondered at the time whether Facebook was a substantial enough entity to list itself on the stock exchange, and we still do. Now, with Facebook's stock at half its opening price, there's a Wall Street clamor for Mark Zuckerberg to be something he likely isn't: a corporate statesman. Maybe a social media enterprise should concentrate exclusively on fostering its members' exchanges with each other and not offer itself to investors.
In any event, NBC News reports, Facebook now has a huge public relations, or investor relations, problem.
