Once again, PepsiCo's Doritos aired the most talked-about Super Bowl commercials, earning it the top spot in the 2012 Brand Bowl. The brand's ads — featuring a baby in a slingshot and a "lost" cat — received over 48,000 Twitter mentions and a 29% positive sentiment rating (better than last year's 6%).
While Doritos garnered the most attention, M&Ms earned the title of "most loved," receiving a 41% positive sentiment rating for its commercial introducing the brown M&M.
Last year, Doritos also dominated social media conversation in the months before the game. This year, first-time Super Bowl advertiser Dannon earned the greatest Impact Media Value in the weeks preceding the big game after announcing that it would feature John Stamos in its Oikos Greek Yogurt spot. Doritos ranked third in the pre-game analysis with its sixth annual "Crash the Super Bowl" campaign.
