With all the digital jousting going on for the attention of web visitors these days, there's still a lead role for effective email newsletters. But what makes for effective ones? David Wilson makes that a community question by quoting other experts in a small business blog post from Australia. Start with your newsletter's subject line, they urge, and, overall, keep it short and sweet.
Blending social media style into a newsletter is important nowadays, by humanizing it as much as possible and avoiding "blatant selling." It all comes down to being current — context always counts greatly — while putting yourself into a reader's shoes.
From marketing strategist Fran Iseli-Hall, David provides links to MailChimp, Sendpepper, AWeber, and Constant Contact as sources of email newsletter software.
