Lee Odden, of the TopRank Online Marketing Blog, looked around the list-making world and decided there needed to be a list of women in social media to balance Erik Qualmann's "Social Media All Stars" list last week that contained few women players.

So Odden created a list of "25 Women that Rock Social Media," and here it is. An interesting aspect of is that "many in the list ... are from the PR industry that I know so it's biased in that way."  Lee wrote that  further suggestions would be welcome, and boy, has he gotten them! His post of only two days ago has drawn 71 comments and 961 reactions.

The social media world is full of life and zest, as though we didn't already know that.

Odden's 25 leading women pracitioners are: Katie Paine, A. Jo. Martin, Charlene Li, Tamar Weinberg, Valeria Maltoni, Jessica Smith, Shonali Burk, Beth Kanter, Maggie Fox, Mari Smith, Jennifer Cisney, Kami Huyse, Deirdre Breakenridge, Beth Harte, Shannon Paul, Amber Naslund, Liz Strauss, Debbie Weil, Laura Fitton, Sarah Evans, Toby Bloomberg, Li Evans, Julia Roy, Sally Falkow, and B.L. Ochman.

Lee includes a background paragraph on each selection. We thank Ragan Communications for alerting us to his post.
