Apple wants to know when you get busy. No, not when you need help with your to-do list. Apple wants to track how often you are having sex.

Apple’s newest iOS release has updated its HealthKit to include the ability for women to track menstruation and intercourse. Previous HealthKit versions had been lambasted for seeming to not include enough health resources for women.

Apple wasn’t the only device company to forget about women’s health. Both Samsung and Google failed to include these features in their health-tracking apps.

The latest HealthKit includes the ability to track menstruation and ovulation, sexual activity, and more. Women and medical professionals see these features as a powerful tool in helping to empower women to make more informed decisions about their health. By being able to provide detailed and accurate information to their doctors, women can perhaps prevent unnecessary health scares.

Still, the amount of biometric information being collected by companies is concerning to many privacy advocates. Medical and protected health information are some of the most commonly stolen data, and therefore attractive to thieves.

For its part, Apple has assured users that the data is being kept securely via local and iCloud encryption.
