Facebook now has 360-degree videos, and they launched the feature in the best possible way. This week, Facebook posted an exclusive 360-degree clip of the upcoming Star Wars movie.

Android and iPhone users can access the clip and change their view by moving their device around. The 360-degree video can also be seen on desktop, and users can change angles with the mouse.

Facebook has been working hard to up its video capabilities in recent months. The move to include 360-degree videos is a clear indication that Facebook is catching up to its biggest video competitor, YouTube. YouTube has had 360-degree videos for a while now. According to Facebook, 360-degree videos and virtual reality are going to be increasingly popular in how we share information on the site. "In the future, imagine watching 360 videos of a friend's vacation to a small village in France or a festival in Brazil — you'll be able to look around and experience it as if you were there. Along with updates from your friends and family, you will also be able to discover amazing new content on Facebook from media companies, organizations, and individual creators."

Currently, the equipment required for filming 360-degree videos is probably a little more cumbersome than most of us want to drag a long on vacation, but as the technology gets smaller, the more likely it is to catch on.
