Relocating is always a journey, especially when moving across the nation without anyone’s help. A few months ago I began the process of relocating. Looking at apartments online, and trying to secure employment can definitely be a task. When looking for a place to stay you never know what you are really getting. Places don’t always look how they look online. Employers don’t always want to see resumes from 3000 miles away. But you can always count on social media to help you out.

Social media sites like Yelp are perfect for finding the perfect place to live. You can definitely rely on the reviews and other users to tell you the truth about place son there. And trust they wont hold their tongue. You can pictures that haven’t been edited and see what the place really looks like! Other sites like LinkedIn can help secure that job that you’re looking for! There are so many networking opportunities to get know people in the area and find different opportunities in the jobs market.

Trying to make new friends is also another hurdle! Who wants to explore a new place alone? Sites such as meet up!, Facebook, even Instagram can all help you to connect with other locals or transplants in the area. You just need to get out there and take advantage of what’s at your finger tips even if you are on the other side of the country.
