Worried about unflattering photos of yourself being posted on Facebook? Or that your friends will tag you in a photo doing something you’d rather not have everyone see? Now the same company that brought that fear into your life is working on a way to alleviate it.
The new software uses the same facial recognition to determine whether or not you’re intoxicated. The technology isn’t specifically for drunken photos, but it could be used to prevent photos from being posted without your permission.
Facial recognition and artificial intelligence are part of Facebook’s push to provide relevant content to its users. The site already looks at the language used in posts to determine what kind of content should be shown in individuals’ news feeds.
