In yet another move to be the only place you visit online, Facebook has created a network for coworkers to collaborate.

Facebook at Work allows users to share work documents and chat, but keeps the work-related network separate from your personal Facebook profile. Facebook at Work hopes to compete with similar services such as Google Drive and Microsoft’s Office.

Still, the social media giant is likely to face an uphill battle in changing companies’ opinions of its usefulness. Many companies actually block the site, believing that it is detrimental to employee productivity. Facebook will not only have to convince companies Facebook at Work won’t lead to employees goofing off, but also that it is better than Drive and Office — not to mention business concerns related to data collection.

Another obstacle to overcome: users’ concerns about the separation of personal and professional information on Facebook. Many people worry that their employer would discipline or even fire them for posts on social media, and prefer to keep personal and professional very separate.

Facebook has not made an official announcement, or even comment, on Facebook at Work, but it is anticipated to launch sometime in early 2015.
