First my condolences to advertisers who chose to run spots in the fourth quarter. You wasted your money.
Why did Frito Lay choose to run a Doritos spot so late? You should be thinking snacks early, not late in the game, regardless of the score.
So, open for your debate are my reactions to the spots:
GREAT
Budweiser with Clydesdales and Golden retriever: (One of the two best)
Cheerios' interracial family: Great (One of the two best)
Doritos, Lone Ranger with William Tell overture: Great, but terrible placement even if the game had been close
Good
Ellen spot for Beat music app
Genesis auto emergency bream
Radio Shack Retro
Chevy Cancer spot
GoDaddy
Bud Light kaleidoscope
WeatherTech
VW, but not as good as Darth Vader
H&M with Beckham and '60s music
Coke
Sonos' "fill your home with music"
Colbert for pistachios (good second spot playing off first)
Muppets for Toyota Highlander
Goldie Blox
Axe "Love Not War"
Chobani with bear: good with v/o by Mandy Patinkin (good choice)
Kia with Laurence Fishbourne doing operas (funny)
Heinz Ketchup with grandma (funny)
Honda with Bruce Willis for safety (very good)
Bud "salute a hero" (classy)
Butterfinger
Jaguar
T-Mobile without Tebow
SodaStream
Bad
Arnold for Bud Light
Maserati (worth it? Nah!)
Squarespace
T Mobile with Tebow
Subway
Audi with crazy dogs
Dannon
Microsoft with Steve Gleason
DREADFUL
Bob Dylan for Chrysler
So, there you have it! Argue at will!
