What I love most about innovation is that it inspires others to innovate as well. Apple products have done wonders in the world of innovation. From uniting the world through music to starting revolutions in product design to even unintentionally orchestrating patent wars, Apple has engraved its brand in history for generations to come.
However, one of the most interesting byproducts of Apple’s innovations has been the accessories that other techies are making to enhance Apple’s user experience. The iPad in particular is proving to be a handy little gadget as it takes on traditional video cameras to capture some of life’s most precious moments on film. With the creation of a new accessory called “The Padcaster,” it is opening the door for aspiring filmmakers and journalists to create their stories and share them with the world whenever they want.

The Padcaster is a basically a high-end camera accessory that transforms your iPad into a full-fledged camera crew. One only has to pop their ipad into The Padcaster’s aluminum frame and the world of film transforms before your eyes. From lights to microphones that capture great sound to lenses that expand your iPad’s ability to capture wide-angle shots, the caster is poised and ready for the silver screen. It’s tablet technology at its best. A cameraman can set up a shot in a matter of minutes and place all of his equipment in a book bag for easy carry and go.

It even gets greater, because it is reasonably priced at $149.00 for the iPad and $159.00 for the iPad Air. The Padcaster is shaving the cost of amateur filmmaking tremendously while also giving filmmakers state-of-the-art technology to shoot what they like.

It is becoming so popular in certain circles that some universities are incorporating them into their film and journalism programs to teach students how to produce work with them. It’s a match made in heaven because, on average, more students are familiar with the iPad and most students can easily save for an iPad or ask their parents for one and then add The Padcaster. Presto! Full-blown production capabilities.

The motion picture camera is one of the most important inventions of our time. It has told the stories of generations. It has told the stories of brands to people around the world. And now it has joined forces with The Padcaster and the Apple iPad to help the next generation of storytellers tell the stories the world may have never heard.
