Tired of the same old, boring Secret Santa? The holidays are a busy time, and it can be difficult to come up with gift ideas or find the time to actually do the shopping. Never fear, though, because Elfster is here to save you.

Elfster is a social media network for Secret Santas. The company was launched in 2004, and is free for anyone who signs up. Originally founded as an option for office gift exchanges where coworkers were really spread out geographically, the company grew from just a few to over 1.8 million users currently.

It’s incredibly easy to use. Sign up, create a wish list, and Elfster takes it from there. The site looks at what’s common, what’s new, etc. and then categorizes gift ideas based off of that information. To make things even easier, Elfster just launched an iPhone app for this holiday season, with plans to launch an app for Android soon.

Elfster isn’t the only gift-giving assistance site out there. Others include Sneaky Santa, Priceblink, and Wantful, whose features range from creating lists, price comparisons, and gift suggestions for those hard-to-buy-for people on your Christmas list.
