It’s that time of year again, when we all begin to bleed our school colors and virtually no work gets done during that first Thursday-Friday stretch. They call it March Madness for a reason; things can get pretty hectic keeping up with every score, every upset, and every buzzer-beater from around the nation. Luckily, like it has for so many other major events, social media swoops in for the rescue. So turn off the game, watch out for your lurking boss, and take a look at these various ways to stay up-to-date without missing a single moment. Let the madness begin!

Twitter gets into the game. This year, a love affair has commenced between Twitter and the March Madness Tournament. Instead of constantly switching between browsers and TV screens, Twitter has partnered with the tourney’s official handle, @marchmadness, as well as Turner Broadcasting. Now, instead of scouring the Internet for scores and updates, @marchmadness will be posting 15-second videos, ensuring you’ll never miss a beat. The initiative has already gotten underway with this past Tuesday’s play-in game between North Caroline A&T and Liberty.

NCAA March Madness Live. This is a must-have application for any tournament fanatic on the go. Not only does this free app allow you to watch any games shown on CBS at no charge, you can sign in to your cable provider for games broadcasted on TBS, TNT, and truTV. Users also have the ability to check out recaps of all games as well as fill out one of their many brackets. The app is available for the iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.

ESPN Bracket Bound 2013. If you could care less about scores and video highlights as long as they don’t affect your bracket, this is the app for you. Allowing users to create up to 10 brackets, ESPN Bracket Bound ditches all of the fuss and muss and caters to the most competitive of tourney watchers. This app is also free and available for the iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.

Sports Bar Finder. While the Super Bowl experience may be reserved more for house parties, the excitement of March Madness is tailor-made for the sports bar. There doesn’t seem to be anything more exhilarating than high-fiving a complete stranger when your team hits that game-winning three to advance to the next round. Powered by DIRECTTV, this app helps you find the nearest bar that offers the game you’re looking for. Download this free app for the iPhone and Android devices
