I first came across SocialBro
about two months ago, and placed it on the burgeoning "interesting-looking-new-social-media-tool-to-try" list in my bookmarks. Now that I've tried it, I'm regretting that I didn't sooner.
This is a pretty comprehensive analytics tool for Twitter, and it's F-R-E-E.
You can download SocialBro as a desktop client or a Google Chrome app. I opted for the Chrome app, and it was up and running in less than a couple of minutes.
Once it syncs with your Twitter account, SocialBro begins to generate all sorts of good stuff to ponder and analyze. The initial dashboard gives you a pretty easy-to-read assessment of who's following you, who's recently un-followed you, and interesting groupings of your followers, from "famous followers" to "newbies." Great for identifying who might be more willing to strike up a conversation, or who could use a little help from a seasoned Twitter user such as yourself.
Socialbro also offers a whole suite of tools, including a "best time to tweet" analysis of your account, as well as mechanisms for analyzing your lists and even your competitors. You can also create custom filters, monitor hashtags, and tweet from the API itself.
But one of the coolest features involves the real-time analytics. Just click to generate a report at any point while you're logged in, and you'll see who's currently active in your Twitter community. What a great way to target people for maximum engagement!
I'm going to have fun with this tool.
If you've used SocialBro, what do you think of it? Any other tools that compare or outshine?
