Mashable provides a great service to PR people by running a "PR Pro's Guide to Twitter." We keep hearing about how Twitter has been used in crisis situations or is great for keeping in touch with professional contacts. This Mashable post gets down to cases on how that's done, # by #. A great tutorial on a communication tool we all need to know about.

Mashable notes that "a 2009 survey found that more than half of all journalists turn to sites like Twitter for story research." And that, of course, was "ages ago in social media time."  The post suggests ways to monitor journalists and be on news-related Twitter feeds. There are tips for strengthening crisis communication and job-hunting via Twitter, along with hashtags for professional PR development and crowdsourcing research.

In all, a timely tutorial for a much-touted tool.
