PR campaigns on social media have lots of possibilities in terms of concepts and engagement techniques. Here, Mashable, in cooperation with Vocus, provides five examples – "5 Smart Social PR Campaigns to Learn From." The aim is to take you "beyond the basics to some of the more inventive approaches out there." Definitely worth some of your time.

There's Rayovac's Rapid-Response Twitter Campaign that took place during a snowstorm last month, Healthy Choice pairing a social coupon with blogger outreach, "social storytelling" from the Breeders' Cup; a social promotion from the Balsams Grand Resort Hotel, and Kentucky Fried Chicken demonstrating "the Power of a Single Tweet" in awarding a college scholarship.

There will be lots more such approaches as social media evolves in terns of PR outreach to the masses – learning comes with these.
