As someone once pointed out, every girl is crazy about a sharp dressed man. But, definitions of “sharp dressed” today are evolving.

Eschewing the Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Giorgio Armani model of authority stylist, today’s designers are guys designing for guys. Which has led to an emerging male market with values not as buttoned-up as they once were.

Example.

Peter Buchanan-Smith designed for Isaac Mizrahi before he launched Best Made, a company that is so manly he started out by making forged axes. Of course, Buchanan-Smith’s axes were more than just wood chippers, and his simple tool quickly started appearing in design magazines.
