An App for Your Community? Why Not?

There’s a movement on, maybe, for smaller-sized cities to have their own apps. As in Redmond, Oregon, where university students think it would be good for residents to become more involved in local government. And why not?

A Redmond app could prompt residents to be more involved, or at least connected, with the community. The startup cost, the students advise, would be $3,400 and then someone would have to maintain the app with new information, etc.

But with newspapers foundering, community apps could be the answer for keeping citizens connected with their municipalities. Check that notion out for your community. Could be a great PR project.
